Traditional learning + AI

Mental health professionals can enhance their skills and confidence, improving the quality of care they provide to clients.

Here’s how

AI can be utilized
in professional training

Experiential Learning

Trainees and students can first complete programs with PAT as if they were the clients, experiencing the therapeutic process from a user’s perspective. This helps them understand the client journey and potential challenges.

Safe Learning Environment

AT provide a safe and controlled environment for professionals to hone their skills, make mistakes, and learn from them without risking client well-being.

Interactive Practice

Trainees can practice their skills by interacting with PAT instead of human beings, allowing for interactive and hands-on learning without the pressure of real-world consequences.

Scenario-Based Training

PAT can simulate a variety of client scenarios, enabling trainees to practice and develop strategies for different mental health conditions and situations.

Immediate Feedback

PAT can offer immediate feedback and guidance during training sessions, helping professionals refine their techniques and approaches in real-time.

Repetition and Consistency

Professionals can repeat training sessions as often as needed with PAT, ensuring consistency in practice and mastery of essential skills.

The technology behind PAT

AI from the ground up

PAT uses the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) advancements to deliver a safe, effective, and engaging experience.

3. Enterprise architecture

Our enterprise architecture cuts through these layers, providing Encrypted Communications, Role-Based Access Control, and running on state-of-the-art Cloud Infrastructure.

2. Agentic architecture

Our agentic architecture sits on top of the foundational models and gives life to PAT, our groundbreaking Digital Co-therapist Platform.

1. Foundational models

We use foundational models with safety built into them both at training and inference time.

Our groundbreaking DigitalCo-therapist Platform

PAT is comprised of the following modules

check2-all-gradient.png

Agency

Enables our AI to deliver complex, multi-session interventions with precision while enabling empathetic dialogues and hiatuses in conversations that enhance the therapy without losing sight of the goal of each session.

check2-all-gradient.png

Library

A wealth of curated work that’s readily available when the situation requires accuracy, precision, and factual rigor

check2-all-gradient.png

Memory

Enables both the memorization of information with remarkable precision as well as the retrieval of these memories at the right time to deliver personalization that translates into unmatched empathy and effectiveness.

check2-all-gradient.png

Tutoring

Like any professional, our digital co-therapist also learns over time. The tutoring module enables our in-house Mental Health Professionals to review real dialogues between PAT and Clients and provide feedback to improve tone and outcomes.

check2-all-gradient.png

Reflection

Just as humans have an internal dialogue that helps abstract problems and distill conclusions, PAT’s Reflection module is the digital version of such inner dialogue.

Curriculum

Manualized, evidence-based programs that are proven to have a positive impact on clients come alive within our platform. This module keeps track of activities, reminds users of their homework, and records progress.

The science behind PAT

The Power of Parenting Interventions

Research shows that parenting programs offered as universal preventions (i.e. to all parents) are beneficial. Now, when you offer them to parents of children with conditions like ADHD and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) the benefits are larger.

The takeaway is clear—we're confident that tailored parenting interventions can make a real difference in managing disruptive behaviors.

Most parents know the importance of praise, rewards, time out, etc.. But they still struggle with their children's behaviors. Why? The challenge often lies in consistently executing them in a logical sequence.

Typical parenting programs are multifaceted. They encompass psychoeducation to grasp the reasons behind certain behaviors. They emphasize positive reinforcement, and promote the understanding of natural and logical consequences.

Studies have revealed that the benefits of such interventions can persist for as long as 15 years, leading to a decrease in mental health issues, school dropouts, delinquent behavior, and family stress.

There are evidence-based programs specifically designed to help adults combat depression, anxiety, and stress by teaching them how to navigate their children’s emotional challenges.

It's a virtuous cycle! When we help one parent, we are helping many children
More positive interactions with our children can lead to a significant decrease in our own levels of depression, anxiety, and stress.

Empowering parents creates a ripple effect for family mental health.

Artificial intelligence -  Conversational Agents

In our studies we have seen that users:

-> Create Bonds with the AI CA.: People often develop emotional connections with conversational agents, finding them approachable and trustworthy, which can enhance user engagement and comfort in sharing personal information.

-> Present Higher Engagement Levels: Users tend to engage more consistently with conversational agents compared to other digital therapeutics. The interactive nature and personalized responses of CAs keep users motivated and interested in their mental health journey.

-> Report promising Outcomes for Mental Health: Conversational agents have shown promising results in addressing a variety of mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, and stress management. They can provide timely support and interventions, making mental health care more accessible.

-> Expressed Stigma Reduction: Interacting with a conversational agent can help reduce the stigma associated with seeking mental health support, as users may feel more comfortable discussing sensitive topics with an AI.

AI & Parenting

Our research, conducted alongside Dr. Guido Enteng from Argentina, delves into this modern approach. A few years ago, we tested a simple chatbot (rule-based) designed to encourage parents to praise their children. A fundamental parenting skill.

Here's what we discovered:

-> Feasibility: Parents not only engaged with the chatbot, they completed the intervention at impressively high rates, despite the lack of any financial incentives.

-> Satisfaction and Acceptability: The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Parents were not just satisfied; they were learned the skills!

-> Meaningful Engagement: Interaction with the chatbot went beyond superficial. Parents genuinely discussed their challenges, expressed gratitude, and found the tool exceptionally helpful in their busy lives.

With PAT, our AI-based conversational agent, we aim to extend this concept further. See studies published below.
